Shields.io provides a service to generate concise, consistent, and legible badges for software projects. It supports dynamic metrics from hundreds of services as well as static custom text badges. Users can generate badges via the hosted service, utilize the badge-maker NPM library within their own applications, or host their own instance using the provided Docker image for deployment behind a firewall.
